Hence, there are 6 papers whose H-C is greater than 5. In the following subsections all the citing papers are listed. The following subsections are devoted to the complete list of publications wherein references to each one of the mentioned articles appear.

At the end of this file there is also my    Curriculuma Vitae

1 General Consideration on the Scopus database

First of all, the reference list of Scopus Database, according to the Database itself where referring to each article it is reported “Cited by since 1996”. As a consequence, all citations previous to 1996 are missing. This problem, of course, does not affect the citation number of those people whose scientific activity started from the 1996 on. Conversely the lack of older data makes a dramatic difference when, as in my case, the first paper was published almost ten years before.

Indeed, The h-index is evaluated by Scopus keeping a subset of all the citations (starting only from 1996) and diving their number by the correct scientific age. The result is completely wrong. In addition, many important Mathematical Journals are not indexed by Scopus. In my case, original papers are published on: LE MATEMATICHE, and Rendiconti di Matematica, Serie VII. In addition, on various occasions, original papers were included in Commemorative Books such as such as Rational Continua, Classical and New, M. Brocato e P. Podio-Guidugli Ed.s, Springer-Verlag, (2003) and Analysis and Geometry,  Fuchssteiner B., Luxemburg W.A.J. eds,  Wissenshaftsverlag, Mannheim-Leipzig-Wien-Zürig, (1992).

Finally, most of Proceedings papers are not covered as well. In my publication list there are many of such contributions since I am strongly convinced of the importance of participation to Conferences and, in particular, of keeping advantage of delivering talks as well as of exchanging ideas with scientists engaged in research in subjects related to those ones I am interested in. In addition, I have been involved twice in the Editorial Board of Proceedings Volumes (1990 published by Springer & 2010 by Sapienza Università di Roma) and, currently, I am a Guest Editor of DCDS - Series B. Furthermore I organized 6 Mini-symphosia and 2 Conferences in the last 10 years.

Finally, the following paper:

is nothing but my paper:

which is indexed in Scopus, but it is not in my list since its author is a non existent SANDRA, C. The same mistake appeared in Web of Science, but, after I asked to insert my article it in my publication list, it was removed from the database. I realized this unexpected mistake only very recently since on MathSciNet and Zentralblatt Math, the databases I generally refer to, it is correctly filed and reviewed, in turn, as item MR1090396 (91k:76152) and Zbl 0728.76106. As a consequence, also all the citations this paper received do not appear; indeed, I cited it at least 5 times in subsequent works concerning Burgers equation (see papers 18, 17, 38, 48 in the enclosed CV) and, presumably, also Prof. B. Guo referred to our joint paper is some subsequent article. However, there is no citation in any database I consulted.

In this document, I show that, even if it does not appear directly from Scopus, my scientific activity is such to satisfy the ANVUR parameters. Specifically,

a.       the number of papers indexed by Scopus or Web of Science is greater than required. Indeed, in the publication list there are 16 articles which appear in Scopus or Web of Science;

b.       the H-C index is greater than required: in my publication list there are, at least, 6 papers which are indexed by Scopus or Web of Science with H-C 6.
c.        as far as the the number of normalized citations, I did not check it since the ANVUR requirement is to pass two out of three parameters. However, I believe also is greater than required even if I had no time to compute the full list of all the citations received during the years. Specifically, I noticed that citations previous to 1996 are missing not only in Scopus, where it is clearly written, but also in the other databases which are not reliable on old citations. Hence, it is quite difficult to find (and verify) citations, as well articles themselves, referring to papers which have been printed before 2000. Indeed, even MathSciNet, does not count citations on papers published before 1999 (I think this is the publication year of the oldest paper wherein it is indicated a citation of one of my articles). Thus, therein, my 1987 article has only 8 citations (the oldest printed in 1999) while I checked it appears in the reference list of 38 papers. Furthermore, all the citations of the many papers, not indexed in the databases, cannot be retrieved as well as all those citations which are not precise, such as those ones to papers in preprint form. My academic age is 26 since the first paper I included in my publications’ list was printed in 1987. As a matter of facts, the first scientific article authored by me was concerning results obtained during my Laurea Thesis in Physics, hence, it is not concerning Mathematics even if my role in the work was that one of the mathematician in the group. Indeed, I took care of the mathematical aspects of the subject while my advisor, Prof. Franco Bassani and the other co-author where concerned about the physical meaning of the results. In additionn, during this very first scientific activity, I discovered that I was more interested in the Mathematical implications than in Physics itself. Indeed, I was concerned about some series convergence problems and some aspects rested to special function theory and its applications. Thus, I entered a PhD program in Mathematics at Waterloo University, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. There I got my Ph.D in Mathematics with advisor Prof. Colin Rogers.

In any case my very first paper, not included in the enclosed paper list, is:
[0] Bassani F., Quattropani A., Carillo S.,  Two photon transition to excited states in atomic hydrogen,  Phys. Rev. A 25, (1982), 3079-3089. It received 41 citations, as far as I could check, hence its
 H-C=6 since (46x4/31)=5.93

The material is organized as follows. In Section 2, the list of my latest publications is comprised: corresponding to each paper, there is the explicit indication of the databases where it is indexed, while in Section 2, the list of my publications of the last 10 years are listed, taking in account only those ones which are listed in one of the two databases, i.e. Scopus or Web of Science. Then, in Section 3, the list of my last ten years papers, as they appear on the MathSciNet database is provided.

In any case, the resulting number of papers which appear in Scopus or Web of Science is 16 (2002–2012) when also  and, hence, the requirement on the (normalized) number of papers is satisfied.

The subsequent Section 4 is concerned about various papers to show that the requirement on the H-C index is satisfied by my scientific production. Specifically, it is shown that 7 papers have a H-C greater than 5, and another one has H-C=5; to this aim all citations of each one of such 8 papers of mine are listed in separate Subsections,.

At the end, also the H index is considered (in another web page).
