Nanobubbles ultrasound contrast agent

The project, carried out in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Drugs, Sapienza University Rome, deals with the development of lipid shell gas-filled nanobubbles (mean diameter 200 nanometers) to be used as a ultrasound contrast agent  in ultrasound scan of vascular systems with small and very small vessels diameter and in small animals ultrasonography. The nanobubbles are also being designed for drug and gene delivery,  as well as for theranostic applications (a combination of therapy and diagnostics in the same device).
